WD — How to Write Firmware Resources

Write modules: Firmware of HDD mainly consists of modules. With this function, users can choose the modules they want and flash them to HDD conveniently.

Write tracks: As tracks being the carrier of module, flashing tracks can also change firmware data of HDD. With this function, users can choose tracks and flash them toHDD conveniently.

Write ROM: With this funciton, users can flash the data backed up in advance to ROM chip of HDD.

WD — How to Search SA Module and Set SA Module Address

Search SA module: This function can be used to search modules and generate new modules list when HDD tracks can be accessed but modules list inaccessible. Searched module data can be saved automatically. Hidden modules located on tracks but not listed in modules list can also be found.

Set SA module address: The menu button locates in “Offset current module address” in right-click button of modules list. It can re-assign address for modules in bad tracks and set new data.

Seagate F3 – How to Edit P-List

Edit P-List in Seagate F3 with MRT Pro data recovery tool.
In Seagate F3 program, the function of editing P-List is mainly used for repairing the fault “front sector are good, sequent sectors are bad”. For example, entry was added to P-List by misoperation and translator was recalculated. Then the above-mentioned fault will occur. In this case, we can find the entry, delete it and recalculate translator to solve the problem.
